Fun Aquabeads Ideas and Printable Templates
I was searching for Hama beads and came across these Aquabeads. The difference between the two is that the Aquabeads stick together with water instead of heat.
I decided to give them a try and grabbed one random set and some extra beads with me. There are so many different colors and even shapes available!
Don’t forget to grab the free printable at the end of this blog post! You can print out the templates and put them under the transparent bead tray to help you design.
How to make designs with Aquabeads
Some people prefer to just jump right in and start placing the beads on the tray. But if you are not one of those people, don't worry, I have a few ideas for you!
You can use the template that I created. I used Clip Studio Paint's bucket tool to color in the circles, but even Microsoft Paint will get the job done! It was super easy to come up with the bead designs this way and see what the end result might look like.
Colored pencils and markers are a great alternative for those who prefer traditional art. Try to pick colors that match the beads that you have. Simply download the PDF and print it out. If you don’t have a printer, you can draw some circles on a paper yourself and color them in!
The blank templates can be found at the end of this blog post.
It’s a good idea to keep your designs as simple as you can. If you add too many details and colors, the end result might look messy. I sometimes struggle with keeping my art and designs simple, so the size of the tray and the amount of colors available were a big help.
Fantasy-themed Aquabeads Ideas
I started with a few colorful mermaid designs. It was easy to place the beads on the tray by hand, but it was also easy to accidentally poke them out of place. The set that I bought didn’t come with the flip tray, so I had to wait for the designs to dry before I could make more.
Here are some more mermaid and fairy designs that you can try making!
I had plenty of green beads and wanted to continue with the fantasy theme. Sadly, my fire-breathing dragon didn't make it because I wasn't careful enough when peeling it off the tray.
Different character designs
It was so much fun designing these characters and the patterns on their dresses!
Animal- and nature-themed Aquabeads ideas
I didn’t have enough beads to actually make all these designs, but maybe you can give them a try. Hopefully they will inspire you to come up with your own designs too!
