Cute Hama/Perler Bead Ideas
Cute animals, characters, and landscapes — there are so many things you can design with melty beads! They are the perfect decorations for empty walls or a fridge door.
I use Hama Beads for my designs because they are very easy to find in my country. Other popular melty bead brands that you might want to look into are Perler, Nabbi, and Artkal.
The designs found on this blog post are made using square and hexagonal pegboards. At the moment I only have one hexagonal board, so most designs are made on a square board.
You can find the download link for these melty bead designs at the end of this blog post!
Materials
Melty beads
Pegboards (large square and large hexagon)

Parchment paper
Colorful mermaids
Board: square
Bright colors and mermaids go well together, so I used a lot of neon beads here: pink, yellow, blue and orange.
Whale Hama bead design
Board: square
I love how this little whale turned out! Petrol blue and azure are defenitely my favorite Hama bead colors.
Blue seahorse
Board: square
Another adorable marine animal.
Sea turtle & clownfish
Board: square
A cute sea turtle and a clownfish, which is actually orange but looks extremely red.
Pink butterfly
Board: hexagon
A pink butterfly made with the hexagonal pegboard.
Mushrooms and a night sky
Board: square
A magical starry night sky with some mushrooms.
Crescent moon and stars
Board: square
A beautiful purple sky with a crescent moon and shiny stars.
Sunset
Board: square
I recently drew this sunset landscape digitally and decided to try and recreate it with Hama beads.
Red flowers
Board: hexagon
This was the first design I made. Luckily, ironing and removing the finished design was easy for the most part, and surprisingly, I didn’t manage to melt the pegboards!
Blue dress
Board: hexagon
I really loved designing these different characters and their clothing.
Boy with a purple hat
Board: square
Inspired by this year’s cold and rainy June…
More character designs
Board: hexagon (left) and square (right)
These last designs are actually the ones I made for Aquabeads a few weeks ago. You can find that blog post here.
I hope these Hama bead designs will inspire you to create your own amazing creations as well!
