Handmade Bear Greeting Card

Handmade greeting cards are always a joy to make and receive!

I wanted to create something cute and happy, and that is how I came up with this adorable bear greeting card design. It might look a little overwhelming at first glance, but I have included a printable template that will help you create it.

Print it on A4/US letter-size paper and choose actual size in the print settings.

Materials

  • Colorful paper (I used light green, green, dark green, brown, light orange, orange, red, pink, and black)

  • Scissors

  • Glue stick

  • Pencil

Step 1

If you are using my template, cut and then trace the bear, leaves, branches, and berries on paper. You can also color the template with colored pencils or markers if you don’t have colorful paper.

Step 2

Glue the light orange circles to the bear’s ears and paws, and the half oval to the main body.

I glued the ears and the paws behind the bear’s body to make it look neater.

Step 3

Add the snout, eyes, nose, mouth, and blush, and glue the bear to the card. If you want to put berries and leaves behind the bear, you can do it before gluing the bear to the card. I didn’t add enough glue, so I managed to lift the bear a bit to slide the branches behind the ears and paws.

For the card I chose a light green A4 and folded it to make an A5. (A4 = 8.3 x 11.7 inches, A5 = 5.8 x 8.3 inches)

It might be difficult to trace the thin branches from my template on paper. Instead, you can cut small pieces of brown paper and glue them together to make different branches.

Step 4

Add the branches, leaves, and berries next. You can also glue some of the branches on the inside and back of the card to give it more depth.

If you plan on writing something on the front of the card, remember to leave enough space for it!

Done!

Add your text, and the bear greeting card is complete and ready to brighten someone’s day!
